“I was 12 years old when I got married”. Child marriage is still prevalent in some areas of Bangladesh. Most girls are married before their 18th birthday. Friendship works to raise awareness and stop child marriages. We counsel families, hold group meetings and inform citizens of their legal rights. We also offer them access to paralegals who can advise them as to which steps to take.
