Just a reminder > The inspirational Saint transforming the lives of Ethiopian women | 60 Minutes Australia

After so much tragic news, it’s good to bring you a story that is an absolute joy. It’s about an Australian woman, Ethiopians call a Saint, Saint Catherine. This wonderful surgeon has saved more than 20,000 women from lives of misery. They are victims of a terrible custom, which forces girls, some as young as six, into marriage. Inevitably, their tiny bodies are ripped apart by childbirth. Often they are left untreated, often abandoned. Their salvation is Catherine Hamlin. She charges no fees and turns no-one away. As Tara Brown reports, Catherine’s patients leave with their bodies repaired and their lives transformed (2001).
