Say NO to Child Marriage
15th November 2019: District Administration, Rayagada with association of Action Aid and Unicef hold a meeting of adolescents to combat child marriage in Rayagada district.
A District Task force formed under the Chairmanship of Collector and District Magistrate, Rayagada Sri Pramod Ku Behera to monitor the work plans. As a part of the District Work Plan District Administration hold the meeting. In the adolescent collective meeting the adolescents from Rayagada, Kashipur, Kalyan Singpur, Kolnara and Chandrapur took participation.
Rayagada Sub Collector Sri Pratap Kumar Pradhan, Dy Superintendent of Police, Rayagada, Sri Bata Krushna Mishra, District Social Welfare Officer Woheeda Begum, District Child Protection Officer Sri Ramesh Nayak, District Panchayat Officer Sri Ramakrishna Gond, District Sports Officer Sri Sheikh Alinur, District Small Savings Officer Sri Dhrub Ku Nayak, CWC Chairperson Sri Rajakishor Sahu, UNICEF District Consultant Sri Prakash Kumar Barik, Santosh Behera and Tejeswar Rao, Action Aid District Consultant Sri Ratneswar Sahu were present in the meeting. Among of others representatives from Childline, SOVA Balakrushna Bisoi BGVS Nihar Ranjan Padhy and other NGOs were also present in the program to facilitate the adolescents.
An action plan developed by the adolescents to check child marriage issues in their areas and they also purposed some actions to be undertaken by the district administration to protect them. At last a District level forum formed.
