Say NO to Child Marriage
Rayagada Collector &District Magistrate felicitated by Smt.Tukuni Sahu, Hon'ble Minister, Women and Child Development, Government of Odisha in presence of Smt. Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti and Labour &ESI, Smt. Sandhyabati Pradhan, Chairperson, OSCPCR, Sri. Arun Bothra, IPS, Sri Sandeep Chachra, Executive Director, ActionAid Association On 9th Foundation Day of OSCPCR for outstanding performance on Combating Child Marriage and ensuring Child protection in Rayagada district. During his period he has taken steps to educate the Matrons, ANMs and School Headmasters regarding Child protection in residential schools in the district. He also promoted to orient the CDPO cum Child marriage prohibition officers, ICDS supervisors, CWC members, Block Education Officers, Welfare Extension Officers, Police officials on Prohibition of Child Marriage in the district and Juvenile Justice Act. During these times he also taken steps for a converging action plan to create awareness in the district to crub child marriage. On 2nd October a mass human chain and mass pledging was undertaken by WSHG members and Students where 3.5 lakh people took participation. On 23rd October 2019 higher secondary school students took pledging No to child marriag and Yes to School. On behalf of Collector Sri Pramod Kumar Behera Sri Ramesh Nayak District Child Protection Officer, Rayagada received the award. Similarly Ms. Goutami Patika of Badabangi,Ramanaguda has been awarded for raising voice against her early marriage & cited an example for the Society. Ms. Karna Murmu, CDPO, Gunupur and Smt.
