‘The most important thing is that girls are taken seriously and can use their voices.’ Meet Bonani, Dulya and Arpeta. At the Sundarghora Secondary school in Bangladesh, these girls are working with their Youth Club to ensure good education for girls. They identify problems for girls and take action. In this way they provide good and clean toilets for girls. And they confront boys and men who harass girls on their way to school.
Their activities are part of the Safe Schools for Girls campaign of local Her Choice partner The Hunger Project Bangladesh. Her Choice works closely with schools, school clubs, pupils and parents. The goal: to make schools safer and more pleasant for girls, so that they can continue to go to school. And that is important. After all, education gives girls the greatest chance of a good future.
