AU Campaign to End Child Marriage in Africa
One of the panel discussions deliberated on the role of religious and traditional leaders on ending child marriage and FGM . It was moderated by Dr. Jane Marie Ong’olo – Head of Social Welfare and Vulnerable Groups from the African Union.
Some of the questions included: Do you think traditional and religious leaders have done enough to address Child Marriage and FGM?
Panelists were Dr. Laury Lawrence Ocen , Clan Chief from Uganda; His Highness King Mfumu Difima from the Democratic Republic of Congo and His Highness Dr. Haliru Ndanusa Yahaya from Nigeria.
