Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network – TECMN

It is estimated that 37% of girls in Tanzania get married before the age of 18. Poverty, social and cultural traditions, sexual abuse, all contribute to child marriage.

Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network – TECMN in one voice we commend the Court of Appeal of Tanzania for its decision to overturn sections 13 and 17 of the existing marriage law. 5 of 1971 (Chapter 29).

So, tomorrow, 19/11/2019 Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network – TECMN will make a joint statement commending the Tanzania Court of Appeal from 3am, at the Serena Hotel, Dar es Salaam.
