Girls Not Brides for End Child Marriage

Shristi used to spend two hours walking to and from school every day. With her new bike she’s able to cut her journey time in half and spend more of her time and energy in lessons working towards her dream of becoming a Nepali language teacher.

????????????

Shristi was given this bike through a project run by Janaki Women Awareness Society – JWAS. With bikes, Shristi and her friends now have a safer journey to school and are less likely to drop out of education.

40% of girls across Nepal marry before their 18th birthday. Thousands don’t finish their high school education which leaves them at risk of early marriage.
