NGO's Hail Anti-Female Genital Cut Campaign
The Executive Director of the UK-based Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development (FORWARD UK ) Ms Naana Otoo-Oyortey has expressed satisfaction on progress of anti-female genital mutilation/ Cut (FGM/C ) and anti-child marriage campaigns in Mara Region.
She made the observation after meeting key stakeholders backing the campaigns in Tarime District under second phase of a project called Mobilising Action to safeguard rights of girls in Tanzania or popularly known as ‘Haki ya Binti’ in Kiswahili.
The initiative is implemented by Children's Dignity Forum – CDF a local NGO with the support of FORWARD UK and Comic Relief also from UK.
