TECMN conducted a brief meeting this morning with Deputy Speaker of United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson at her office discussing her role on pushing for the amendment of Law of Marriage Act of 1971 Section 13 & Section 17.
The agenda was to brief her with the advocacy meetings TECMN had with the parliamentary Social Services and development Committee, Parliamentary Legal and Constitutional Committee as well as the Parliamentary Women Caucus in Dodoma. However; the main aim is to know how her role and the office would assist in pushing the agenda of amendment in the parliamentary discussion sessions. Lastly to hear her point of view on what excellent approach to be used to reach at a consensus.
