Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network – TECMN
PROJECT LAUNCH | Yesterday through the support of the Embassy, the Children’s Dignity Forum (CDF) in collaboration with the Ilala Municipal Council launched the project “Community sensitization on ending child marriage in Kitunda Ward, Ilala”. The launch was officiated by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Honourable Tulia Ackson. Our Deputy Head of Mission Lianne Houben also spoke at the event. She underlined the importance the Dutch government attaches to respecting human rights – especially children’s rights. CDF’s project aims to sensitize and create awareness in communities about child marriages. It also strives to empower those girls at risk of, or already subjected to child marriage, teen pregancny and FGM. We are proud to work with CDF and Ilala Municipal Council in this initiative!
