Ghana Ends Child Marriage

In order to facilitate learning among partners, the Final day of the stakeholders review meeting highlighted new findings and research conducted by some partners on child marriage in Ghana. Among these was a situational analysis of Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Ghana by UNFPA-Ghana, as well as findings from a UNICEF-supported assessment of strategies and approaches to address Child Marriage in Ghana. There was also discussions around a study conducted by World Vision Ghana to understand the drivers of child marriage within some communities. This was in fulfillment of Objective 5 of the strategic framework which looks at generating evidence in order to inform policy and programming. The Child Marriage Coordinating Unit will document and disseminating these findings among partners in order to inform the implementation of strategies that seeks to support adolescent girls in order to reduce their vulnerabilities towards child marriage
