Girls Not Brides for End Child Marriage
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the CEDAMEDI organisation had been hosting community mobilisation sessions for girls, parents, teachers and local and religious leaders to address child marriage.
Support was also being provided to girls – particularly in health education, sexual and reproductive services, family planning, youth education, and child empowerment sessions for those at risk of child marriage and those already married during the lockdown period, to advocate alongside the authorities.
We hope that COVID-19 hasn’t impacted their amazing efforts, and wish them the best of luck with the brilliant work they’re doing to support girls within marginalised communities. ????✨????
