Nipa was a schoolgirl with the dream for higher education. She was a student of class seven and happened to become a victim of eve-teasing while going to school. A boy from a nearby school threatened Nipa’s father he would kidnap her if the father would not agree to marry her off to him.
Nipa’s father agreed and married her off to the boy when she was 14. At her 16 Nipa gave birth to a male child. Nipas’ in-laws were not at all supportive of her. Her husband and in-laws demanded TK. 50,000 from Nipa’s parent as dowry.
As Nipa’s parents could not afford it, her husband and in-laws started to torture her physically and emotionally. She could not bear the violence and left for her parent’s house where she stayed for 7 months.
After that, her husband took her back to his house and after a few days started torturing her again. After a few months, her in-laws threw her out of their house and Nipa, having no other alternatives, went back to her parent’s house.
